Archive: Bloom N Art 2020

What a year it was! The Covid-19 pandemic hit us as we were getting ready for the Bloom N Art exhibition.

On Thursday, March 12, 2020, a small group of Garden Club members met at the Harvard General Store to discuss the possibility of cancelling it all together. At that time, school was still in session, and the teachers and students were adamant that Bloom N Art proceed as planned. So, we went forward with an in-person show, with a new awareness about the importance of social distancing.

A day later, school was cancelled for three days for “cleaning.” Our venue at the Harvard Public Library was shut down two days later. Little did we know that the schools and our library would be closed for months.
